The average CEO to worker income ratio peaked in 2000 at approximately 525:1. As of 2009, the average income of a S&P 500 CEO could support the summative salaries of 28 US Presidents or 225 teachers or 753 minimum-wage workers.

I didn't know which statement was more true and couldn't reconcile one with the other so I just burst out laughing instead.

The Freedom Tunnel

After being built in the 1930s, the tunnel was quickly phased out of service in preference for automobile transportation. It became a haven for Manhattan's homeless population until 1991 when Amtrak evicted the tunnel and bulldozed the shantytowns.
